POINT OF DEPARTURE
Tetra Pak Inventing in Hjørring produces much of the material needed to produce carton packaging. The factory is an internal factory at Tetra Pak which produces exclusively for its own factories.
The need for new indoor climate conditions has arisen in Tetra Pak’s production department, in the warehouse and in the process air used on the production line. We need an indoor climate where humidity is under continuous control, however the need is not there in all hours of production.
As Tetra Pak Inventing only needs to control the humidity some of the time, the project involved coming up with a solution that made it possible to change the indoor climate as and when required. At the same time, the company wanted an energy-efficient solution with a sound operating economy.
This solution has given us full control of the indoor climate in our factory.
EnergySolution developed the technical solutions and was responsible for project management, including planning and tendering.
Tetra Pak Inventing had its existing systems modernised and adsorption dryers installed. A new joint control solution was implemented for all systems. This allows Tetra Pak Inventing to adapt the production facility and warehouse to the indoor climate that their products require.
As an added benefit, the solution has made it possible to reduce the consumption for refrigeration by means of humidification in the exhaust duct and thus cooling using the return air.
WHAT TETRA PAK INVENTING RECEIVED
- An energy efficient innovative indoor climate solution
- A new shared control solution for all systems (cooling, heating, humidification and ventilation)
- Installation of return air systems and two adsorption dryers
- Conversion of existing ventilation systems
